In this five day a week Waldorf-inspired circle time we will sing songs together, do fingerplays, recite verses and use movement to explore the seasons and the nature around us. This circle will have a rhythm of breathing in and out. It will always start with the teacher lighting a candle, reciting the same verses and singing a 'Hello' song (in-breath). Following on we will use big active energetic movements and smaller hand movements while singing songs, reciting poetry and doing fingerplays and other movement activities (out-breath). We use props like silks, ribbon rings, and shakers to enhance the sensory experience. The circle ends with the teacher blowing out the candle and reciting a finishing verse (in-breath). This Waldorf circle will bring a calm, gentle, loving rhythm to your day. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT This circle time is low-technology, meaning we use Zoom only as a way for learners to interact with a teacher through technology. We do not use screen share to show presentations or videos and we do not use anything pre-recorded, such as songs. Through human voice, instead of mechanical ones that we often find in modern kindergarten songs, children can experience living language. The way class is formatted it does not build on each other and no prior knowledge from previous weeks are required. Students may join at any time. INCLUSIVITY This is an inclusive class, meaning students of all abilities are welcome. If a student is unable to communicate verbally they are welcome to use the chat. If your student has any other needs that require accommodations please let me know and we will work together to make sure your student gets the best class experience possible.

Nora has a wealth of experience in early education and at Waldorful Days she runs circle time for 3 year olds, as well as our seasonal craft camp.
Nora has a BA in Early Childhood Education and gained a Masters in Special Education in 2006. She began working in a K-6 Self Contained Classroom. During this time she worked to develop the School-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support program, based entirely on peace, one of her great passions.
In 2017, Nora opened her own Early Childhood Center called "Let's Play Learning". The developmentally appropriate curriculum was based on the view that children learn best when they are actively exploring a carefully constructed environment in the company of their caregiver and directed by loving, professionally prepared teachers.
She has her own business on Etsy, the Montessori ReStore! This is a place in which she combines all of her passions, including thrifting, supporting local businesses, and woodworking! She creates Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia inspired lessons and activities for young children.
Nora and her family like to spend lots of time out in nature exploring their diverse and unique ecosystem and she is currently homeschooling her two daughters though the pandemic using nature as their guide!
