In this advanced vocabulary class, students will learn 2 related vocabulary words each week. Vocabulary is an important and integral part of reading achievement. In fact, vocabulary knowledge is directly related to reading and comprehension success (National Reading Panel, 2000). By increasing vocabulary, students will be better able to communicate and comprehend what they are reading. This class focuses on increasing vocabulary acquisition and critical thinking skills. Students will be able to differentiate between two similar vocabulary words.
Miss Raz holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in education. She is currently working toward National Board Certification for her teaching practice.
