Violin or viola students of any level are welcome to take private lessons. If you already play and have specific repertoire you want to learn, I am happy to do that. I teach beginners through advanced students and am happy to tailor learning to students' interests. In my classes, I foster a love of music and connection through violin or viola playing. Proper technique and posture is covered, along with building skills through graded repertoire. Learners MUST have an appropriate size violin or viola to start lessons. If you need guidance on this, please get in touch and I can help you. **Since this class is 1:1, the weekly schedule will be learner-directed. Below is a sample for a BEGINNER.** Week of February 6 - Learn parts of violin and bow, plus proper posture. First rhythm - "Mississippi Hot Dog" Week of February 13 - Review parts of violin and bow, posture & rhythm. Learn names of all 4 strings and practice Mississippi Hot Dog on them. Week of February 20 - Learn to "blast off" and use your fingers on the violin - "Monkey Song" will be taught on E string. Week of February 27 - Review Monkey Song and learn Hot Cross Buns

I could tell you about my qualifications, but that alone won't tell you who I am. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!
I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!評論
