Students will learn about the five regions of the U.S.
Students will be able to complete maps of each region placing states in their correct location.
Students will become experts on one region of the United States (states and capitals, geographical features, and climate)
Students will be introduced to states and their capitals. 
Students will conduct a short research project and present their findings.

Our educators have degrees in elementary education fields. Our lead teacher, Mrs. Sneath, also pursued a social studies concentration in undergrad. We have a combined 15 years of experience helping children develop a love for learning and growth mindset through teaching core subjects (math, language arts, science, and social studies).

The only homework assigned outside of class time will be to finish what they aren't able to in class. This may include some additional research time (I will provide sources), or additional writing time. Depending on the speed at which your learner works they may have up to a half an hour outside of class some weeks, or potentially no time outside of class spent.

Students will be asked to fill in maps of each region identifying the region and the states inside. 
Students will also present and turn in a project specific to one region of the U.S.

 is where we will be conducting our in class research of each region. If they want to use other sources, I will ask that they do so outside of class time with an adult's presence. 

Students will have the choice to create their projects using a digital format of their choosing such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Prezi. They can also elect to create a poster.
