I absolutely love the Penderwicks and hope to help your learner find joy through all the adventures of this charming family! We will read 1 Penderwick book (by Jeanne Birdsall) per 2 weeks and through a student led/teacher guided class structure, discuss important ideas from the selections. Through our literary analysis, will will cover setting, characters, plot, point of view, figurative language, and vocabulary. These books contain a few mild kissing scenes, references to disease and death, and in chapter 17 of the first book, God's name is taken in vain.
