We are part of a unique and special global community. There are lots of wonderful things we can learn from each other and lots of beautiful things to appreciate from different cultures. Let’s explore our world’s uniqueness through art. Each week we will learn about a new country and draw our Travel Girl in the traditional and/or popular clothing of the country. Students of different drawing abilities are able to enjoy this class as the Travel Girl is drawn using shapes and lines. Travel Girl is a character created by Teacher MoMo. The Travel Girl travels the world and explores different culture. In each class, Travel Girl is featured in a unique cultural setting. The class will begin with a 5-minute introduction of the country. Next, students will look at the sample drawing that the teacher has created prior to class. This will serve as the model for drawing a personalized character. Each student will decide patterns, color combinations, and facial features. By the end of the 55-minute class, students will have a beautiful drawing. As the teacher, I will guide students to create a unique drawing that reflects their personalities. Class Format: 1. Country Introduction (capital, population, language, pop culture, one special event. ) 2. Review of a Travel Girl drawing (diamond face, earrings, closed eyes, etc.) 3 Drawing of a specific Travel Girl to represent the country of the week 4. Optional Homework February Week of 2/5: China (Lunar New Year) Week of 2/12: USA *Week of 2/19: Brazil (Carnival) Week of 2/26: Guatemala March Week 1: France Week 2: South Korea Week 3: Mexico Week 4: India April Week 5 : Peru Week 6: Australia 🇦🇺 Week 7 : Rwanda Week 8 : Mother Earth (Earth Day) Week 9 : UK May Week 10 : Kenya Week 11 : Ecuador Week 12 : Vietnam Week 13: Canada June Week 14: Japan Week 15: Colombia Week 16: Costa Rica Week 17: South Africa July Week 18:Bahamas Week 19: Cambodia Week 20: Cuba Week 21: Malaysia
學習目標
Students will enhance their world knowledge by reviewing basic facts about various countries that the Travel Girl character visits. Also, students will improve their drawing ability by using common shapes and lines to create a character.
