Students will learn how to use the all of the concepts of Trigonometry and Advanced Trigonometry at a deep and unforgettable level. They will learn how to derive trigonometric identities, use them to verify trigonometric expressions, solve trigonometric equations, graph triangles, solve triangles, graph trigonometric functions and more. The goal is to nurture student's understanding of everything encompassing trigonometry and allow them to apply it to real life. 
I have tutored Kindergarten through 12th Grade and beyond math for about 6 years now, of which 3 have been online. I began tutoring my peers at age 14 as I mostly lived in Hungary and the Hungarian curriculum was a bit more advanced than the American curriculum. As a result, I began college at the age of 16 at Bellevue College and received a degree in Physics, Engineering and Atmospheric Sciences at the age of 18. I applied to MIT that summer and got waitlisted, but a new opportunity arose where the University of Washington granted me a full-ride scholarship to study physics. Also, during that summer I was granted a research fellowship at the U.S. Naval Academy to study GPS, APRS and weather patterns. This is where I built my first GPS balloon that I let up into the stratosphere to collect data and hopefully fly around the world. Unfortunately, my balloon got to New York before it was struck by lightning and came crashing down. It was still an excellent experience though and I got to apply all my prior math and physics knowledge to something in the real world. During this fellowship I also aided in writing the Naval Academy's curriculum for their 4th year Astrophysics course, co-published a research report on PICO balloons with Commander Robert Bruninga, built and tested a solar satellite that was later launched by Space X, and studied Eddy Current behavior in Helmholtz Coils. 

Recently I have been more focused on building my tutoring business, farming, composing music and learning how to cook. While I enjoy physics, I realized my talents mainly lay in teaching math and I thoroughly enjoy seeing my students get a spark of passion for improvement in their math skills and knowledge. Trigonometry is one of my favorite topics to teach as it applies to everything from walking in the park, to jet streams, to sports, satellites, driving, physics, engineering, inventions, architecture and so on and so forth. I aim to show my students how math can apply to the real world and kindle their imagination, as without real world application, math is just scribbles on a piece of paper. 

While I was majoring in physics at the University of Washington, I realized that rather than physics and math being just a boring skill, it's more of a philosophy, or way of thought. Physics and math have taught me some of the most procedural, logical and out of the box ways of thinking about the world that I can apply to every aspect of my life from music, to cooking, to making the bed, playing sports and so forth. After years of teaching math and physics I have realized that students enjoy this organized way of thought because it allows them a tried and true way of solving problems outside of math and physics as well. Of course, presentation in notes is also a huge factor of whether the student enjoys the class or not and presentation of the material as well, however, even the students who have historically not done well in math have come to enjoy it and respect math for it's beauty in my classes. I always love seeing a struggling student have the light bulb go off on top of their head and think "hm, maybe math isn't so bad after all" and then proceed to show me a masterful example of the skill we have gone over. This is why I teach! 
Students are required:
- A math notebook (grid paper preferred) 
You can find these usually at office depot in the form of a spiral notebook, or engineering paper. 
- A pencil with an eraser (math requires mistakes, so let's have a way of fixing them!)
- Sound/Audio capability to listen to lectures
- Any scientific, graphing or even phone calculator. 
I recommend phone calculators as students likely already know how to use them properly and they contain everything needed for trigonometric calculations. If they are too much of a distraction, however, scientific calculators are the cheapest and best suitable for this course. A regular TI-30X or TI-30XS scientific calculator might run you about $15-$20. Desmos also has a free online scientific calculator and so does Google if you just type in "calculator" into the Google search bar. I actually use the Google calculator quite a bit. I can not recommend four (4) function calculators as they do not have anything sin or cos related which will be needed in this course.

We will be going over trigonometry that is compiled from a variety of online resources and textbooks. Not all topics will be used from these sources as topics such as polar coordinates, graphing trigonometric functions in the complex plane or polar plane are more calculus 3 types of topics that are not usually suited for high school.
