In this class we will discuss and learn about the women’s suffrage movement, who the leaders of the movement were, what were the arguments for and against women's equality, how was suffrage handled in other countries, and discuss how women’s roles have evolved over the last 150 years. This class is largely discussion based, with the first half of each meeting period being a powerpoint presentation, followed by open questions. My goal with this class is not only to present history and discuss...
Learners will gain an understanding of some of the key figures (both well known and some of the lesser known) that played a part, major moments in the timeline for equality, opposition to the movement, how it impacted the abolitionist movement, and how it progressed into the twentieth century.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.

This class may contain some topics that might be uncomfortable for some students. We will discuss the treatment of women who were arrested for protesting, which included jail time, solitary confinement, and forced feedings. There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.
