What began as J.R.R. Tolkien's sequel to his beloved children's book, The Hobbit, soon expanded into a much larger story, The Lord of the Rings. In the same way, Signum Academy's summer Hobbit Immersion Camp has been expanded with a series of live discussion-based classes on major works of fantasy literature. Tolkien, is available in bookstores and libraries in print and audio; cost is approximately $5 used, $10 e-reader, or $10-$20 new. Any edition of the unabridged text will be fine! Students should read or reread the indicated sections before each class. Selections will be read aloud together and discussed during the class sessions.
