Week 1
Lesson 1
Descriptive Writing: Write a letter to a friend describing your new hobby
In this lesson, I will give a short review of paragraph writing, and then demonstrate descriptive writing style with a sample paragraph. 
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Descriptive Writing: Write an article for a travel magazine
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson One paragraphs, then in this lesson, we will discuss travel as students share some of their favorite destinations.  Then I will demonstrate descriptive writing with a sample travel article. 
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Descriptive/persuasive Writing: Write a design plan for a new recess space
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson Two paragraphs, then in this lesson,  we will discuss recess as students share some of their recess activities.  Then I will demonstrate descriptive/persuasive writing with a sample recess space paragraph. 
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Personal Narrative: Tell us about a time you learned a new skill
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson Three paragraphs, then in this lesson,  I will demonstrate personal narrative writing with a sample new skill paragraph.  Students will be allowed to share similar skills to mine during class time. 
 Week 5

Imaginative Narrative: Write a story about falling into your favorite book
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson Four paragraphs, then in this lesson, we will discuss some of the students' favorite books.  Then I will demonstrate imaginative narrative writing with a sample paragraph. 
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Imaginative Narrative: Write a dialogue story about meeting your doppelganger
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson Five paragraphs, then in this lesson, we will learn how to write using dialogue and students will be taught about doppelgangers.  After these lessons, I will demonstrate imaginative narrative dialogue writing with a sample paragraph. 
 Week 7

Persuasive Writing: You will convince Nintendo to give you their latest game
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson Six paragraphs, then in this lesson, we will learn how to write using persuasive writing.  Students will use their creative skills to invent a video game idea.    After these activities, I will demonstrate persuasive writing with a sample letter to Nintendo. 
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Expository Writing: Write an invitation describing a party you are planning
Students will be encouraged to share their Lesson Seven paragraphs, then in this lesson, we will discuss some of our favorite parties.   Students will use their creative skills to expose their readers to an exciting party plan.  For fun, students may record themselves reading their party paragraphs and upload them to the classroom for their classmates to watch.
