This class is a fun read aloud class with the text: "The Book With No Pictures" by BJ Novak. This text is a young learner favorite! The text literally has no pictures, but is filled with hilariously formed words instead. The text forces the reader to read these words aloud. Young learners will not stop laughing! "At once perfectly simple and ingeniously imaginative, The Book With No Pictures inspires laughter every time it is opened, creating a warm and joyous experience to share—and introducing young children to the powerful idea that the written word can be an unending source of mischief and delight." Along with the hilarious read aloud, we will explore the parts of a book : author, illustrator, front cover, back cover, title page and spine. Learners will also get to use their imagination and artistic skills to become the illustrator and create a picture for "The Book With No Picture".
學習目標
Learners will have FUN! Throughout the fun lesson hidden learning will take place. Learners will practice listening skills. I will ask questions throughout the text to keep them engaged and they can practice orally responding to questions about a text. Learners will also be introduced to the parts of a book.

The word butt (Boo Boo Butt) is used in the book. I will read it aloud.
供應清單
One book, it can be any book, but please make sure it has a front/back cover, title page and spine. A one-page printout will be provided for the the learner to create their illustration, but this is optional. Coloring materials (crayons, markers, colored pencils) will be needed if they choose.
