This class meets once a week and will teach learners how to maximize imagination in creative writing.  There will be some parts of speech and proofreading lessons, however, the main focus of this course is finding fun and joy in writing. I want learners to walk away feeling empowered to make their dreams and ideas into stories. Learners will learn how to use stream of consciousness and imagination exercises/prompts to do just that!

Class 1 We will get to know each other better by building a story together using stream of consciousness
Class 2 Learners will be guided through an imagination exercise (bring a mat or towel for this class), then turn what they imagined into a story.
Class 3 English basics; nouns, verbs, sentence structure, and proofreading as a team sport
Class 4 Learners will learn the elements of a story and use prompts to practice what they learn
Class 5 Learners will learn how to outline their big ideas and plan to tell their story
Class 6 Learners will learn tools and resources to help them edit their stories 
Class 7 Learners will learn some approaches for starting their final draft
Class 8 Learners will learn how to present their stories orally
