This course is designed to cover the fundamental syntax rules in French to write well constructed basic sentences for an elementary school level student (see the schedule below). This class is taught in French only ! 

During my live video class, each of my student will be invited to share their ideas and thoughts about each assignment. I believe in socioconstructivism learning approach. It is important to me that each student structure their knowledge into a simple and efficient way. I also believe that when a student is having fun learning it increases their ability to memorize and master any knowledge. This is why, I have developed a fun way to memorize "complex" syntax rules with my own educational material and tools such as games, role playing and interactive activities. Learning French syntax rules can be fun ! :) 

Please note there is an evaluation to complete before taking this class. A test (PDF) and the instructions are provided once you enroll your child. Each student enrolled in this class must have a great knowledge of the phonological rules and a minimum of writing skill in French.

Syntax rules taught in this 8 weeks class are :

1. La phrase de base (week 1-2-3)
    Construction of a basic sentence
    Differentiate the role of the verb
    Compose basic sentences respecting the syntax rule

2. Les formes de phrases (week 4-5)
    Construction of a positive and negative sentence
    Compose basic sentence respecting the syntax rule

3. Les signes de ponctuation (week 6)
    Identify the role of each ponctuation mark

4. Les types de phrases (week 7)
    Identify the meaning of a speech
    Compose basic sentences respecting the syntax rule

5. Syntax rules evaluation (week 8)

As an educational designer and an author for children stories I create all my learning and teaching material. Therefore, you will find my learning kit (memory aids of the rules learned in this class) and my activity book in the classroom forum before our first class. With these memory aids your child will have the opportunity to review the syntax rules in French learned in this class.
