Get ready to read. In this class, we will be learning and participating in activities to learn sight words and cvc words. Sight words are a set of words in the English language that do not follow the rules. In this semester-long class, students will learn 5 sight words a week. This will help students when learning to read. Students will be provided a list of sight words at the beginning of the first class. We will do singing sight words chanting songs. Students will learn up to 5 sight words weekly and blends. Learning sight words is a key essential to mastering how to read. I will attach a sight words mat with a list of words for students.
I am offering this class in particular because I have been a successful reading teacher and intensive reading teacher in the public school system for over 15 years. I take the time that is needed to help each student to reach their full potentials. Not only as a teacher but as a parent, I have taught all four of my children how to read by the age of 4. I have the skills it takes to get your child to read.
