Not only is reading an essential life skill, but it can be a source of entertainment. In this course, students dive into this heartfelt book. Through completing class activities, students will practice reading comprehension skills, identifying plot events, describing characters, determining problems, defining vocabulary words, and recognizing themes in books. Students will be given reading comprehension questions and vocabulary to complete while reading. The instructor will post video introductions for each new book, providing students with necessary background information. During each class session *We will review reading comprehension questions, vocabulary, main plot points, characters, and discuss important quotes/themes/concepts from the reading. *Students will also play Blooket based on the assigned chapters. Class 1- *Review vocabulary for ch 1-6 *Review reading comprehension questions for ch 1-6 Class 2- *Review vocabulary for for ch 7-11 *Review reading comprehension questions for ch 7-11
學習目標
Students will improve their reading comprehension skills by answering questions and participating in discussions.
Students will gain knowledge of new vocabulary words by defining unknown words and participating in discussions.
Students will learn/review plot elements (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution) by participating in discussions.
