In this 3-day Summer Camp, we will learn modern faux calligraphy techniques to hand-letter and draw three unique and creative art pieces. 

Day One: For our first day together, we will learn the basic of modern faux calligraphy and apply in the following days of this summer camp. Next, we will create a "Hello Summer" drawing, with color, a double shadow, and summer themed embellishments (sun glasses, ice cream, and watermelon).

Day 2: On our second day, we'll draw a vibrant colored hanging ceiling fan and hand-letter "I'm a big fan of yours" on the center. We like puns around here! We'll shadow and use two types of fonts to hand-letter this art piece. 

Day 3: On our final day, we'll draw a landscape filled with mountains, sun rays, clouds, and birds. We’ll also add a heart-shaped hot air balloon. Lastly, we'll hand-letter "It's time for a new adventure" on the front, and use a fading technique within our letters for a cool effect. Shadowing and coloring will be our final step for this class!

These three art pieces are taken from my Ongoing Weekly Hand-Lettering and Drawing Class. This is a great camp for students to learn new hand-lettering techniques, including faux calligraphy, and use their drawing and coloring skills. 

Students will be guided step-by-step and given creative liberty to change and adapt their compositions as we draw together. 

Card stock is preferred (but not required) for this class as we’re aiming to create a sturdy wall-art piece. Students can also choose color options they prefer most. 

***Please note, some students may not have time to finish coloring their picture in class depending on their optimal drawing speed. I will work at a steady pace and frequently gage where students are at during the lesson. It is my goal to help them finish their drawing, but sometimes this doesn’t allow for coloring completion before class is over. Thank you for understanding.***
