What are writing sprints? They're concentrated bursts of writing. Why are they useful? Even the best writers get stuck sometimes. Writing sprints jostle and jiggle us out of the muck. How are they used by fiction and nonfiction writers? Writers use sprints to jumpstart their writing and increase their hourly word count. Students will learn how to effectively use writing sprints and prompts to increase their writing output.
Since 2007, Kori’s work has been published in Fine Lines Literary Journal and on various blogs, including Better Humans, The Ascent, Publishous, Thrive Global, The Writing Cooperative, Positive Psychology.com, Ardent Path Journal, and more. She's a freelance writer, editor, coach, and teacher. Kori's experience includes creating, developing, and hosting the Back Porch Writer podcast: The show for writers, about writers, and writing, and co-hosting Indie Author Hour. She's appeared as a guest on several podcasts since 2013. Kori loves indie publishing. Her primary genre is mystery, specifically private detective novels. Her current WIP is a young adult novel that's she's rewritten at least four times. Kori is a member of Sisters in Crime (SinC), Guppies, Crime Writers of Color, and ACES: The Society for Editing.
Students need writing paper, pens, or pencils. Alternatively, students can use a writing app on their phone, PC, or laptop.
