From the writer and producer of the Tales from the Moosiverse podcast comes Storylab: The Story-Growing Exploratorium, a 6-week creative writing program for 8-12 year-olds. The purpose of these workshops is to grow the writer/storyteller. These classes will NOT cover writing mechanics like spelling or grammar. There are no grades or work submissions; just activities and sharing to equip and support individuals’ growth and development as writers and storytellers. Each group of 5-10 kids will...
Students will grow their confidence in creative writing and story development. They will become familiar with character archetypes that show up in stories across all genres and be able to identify them in stories they read or watch. They will learn specific story-development tools they can implement in any story. They will enjoy the process of creation and or sharing ideas with others to help each other grow as writers. They will gain experience in working together in a group to develop stories and bounce ideas off each other in a supportive and constructive environment.
I earned my Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and I am a member of the National Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, as well as writing and hosting my own podcast for kids, Tales from the Moosiverse.
The student will only need something to write on, and something to write with.
