Welcome to Story Squad, where imagination meets teamwork! In this fun and interactive class, students will collaborate to create a one-of-a-kind story while learning the fundamentals of storytelling.

What will be taught?
Students will explore the key elements of storytelling, including characters, plot, setting, conflict, and resolution. They’ll also practice teamwork, creativity, and communication skills while contributing to a group project.

What topics will you cover?

1. Brainstorming and voting on story ideas
2. Creating fun and dynamic characters
3. Building an exciting plot with twists and turns
4. Understanding what makes a story engaging and cohesive
5. Illustrating the story for a creative finish


Each class will follow this structure:

Brainstorm & Vote: Students share ideas for the story’s theme, characters, and plot, then vote to decide together.
Collaborative Writing: We’ll build the story step-by-step, with each student contributing ideas and discussing as a group.
Story Parts & Lessons: We’ll pause to learn about the key storytelling elements as we use them in the story.
Illustration Time: Together, we’ll draw scenes or characters to bring our story to life.


My teaching style is hands-on, interactive, and fun! I’ll guide discussions, encourage participation, and keep the process playful and engaging. I’ll use brainstorming activities, discussions, and occasional mini-lessons to teach storytelling skills organically as we build our story.


Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact! I’ll guide the brainstorming sessions, facilitate discussions, and support each student in contributing ideas. We’ll work as a team to create our story, ensuring every student has a chance to shine.


No prior writing experience needed—just bring your imagination!
Students will leave with a fun, illustrated story they helped create.
