In this one times class we will read some favorite James Dean books, like "Pete's Big Lunch" and "Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcake". Little learners can build great listening, observation and creative thinking skills during storytime, asking questions and using their imagination. In fact, did you know that reading aloud to kids has clear cognitive benefits? For example, brain scans show that hearing stories strengthens the part of the brain associated with visual imagery, story...
- Students will strengthen literacy and listening skills, prediction, problem solving and observation skills and will practice fine motor work, as we work together on our sandwich project with the included printable for enrolled learners, and engage in matching and counting cupcakes as a class.
1 註冊後即可取得文件Please print out the attached "Pete's Big Sandwich" pdf. There are 2 pages in total. Please cut each of the pictures out before class* so learners are ready to stack (and glue, if they'd like) the pieces in order when we retell our story and try to build a sandwich just like Pete's! No printer? No problem. Learners can help build Pete's sandwich sharing the teacher's version on screen. *Please cut a part the pictures before class starts so the project is ready to go when we begin the sandwich sequencing activity! If your learner wants to glue the pieces in place, please bring a glue stick to class too!
Because of the age of the class I recommend a grown up be within "ear-shot" to help with any technical hiccups (mic and video) that might come up.
