定格動畫電影製作：用動畫講述你的故事！

In this course, students will be introduced to the style of stop-motion animation (if unfamiliar), and all components required to create a successful short movie animation. We will discuss about the importance of planning, technical details, and editing short stop motion film using the Stop Motion App. Students will need to download this app--the FREE version is all that is required for the course.

The class will be hands-on, with live demonstration and then time for students to work on their own independent projects.

Day 1: Instructor will review the essential techniques, including vocabulary (still photo, frame rate, ghost image), the importance of lighting and controlled conditions including steady camera shots, as well as how to construct tripods to make for better shooting conditions. Prior student sample videos will be shared and discussed. We will then review the app interface, tools, and how to make necessary adjustments. Students will have time to explore on their own as well as brainstorm ideas for their own projects. During class, students will have basic practice using the app, and will brainstorm for their own projects. Instructor will discuss manageable expectations for stop motion projects, as they almost always require much more of a time commitment than students anticipate.  Homework: Students work on their own films. 


Day 2: Students will share progress on own films. Instructor will demonstrate adding audio files to create a more polished film, and review any problems student may have encountered while working on their own. If students have been working diligently on their own films, they will now be able to add audio layers--sound or voice overs, and a title. Instructor will provide independent help and critique/suggestions in smaller or one-on-one breakout rooms, then students will come together and share their creations (optional). 
Finally, we will review how to export and share their creations with friends and family.
