In this Flexible Schedule class, students will complete 2 STEM engineering projects a week and share their creations in our classroom chat. Students will learn about engineering, aviation, solar energy, architecture, and propulsion through out this 4 week/ 8 challenge course. On Mondays and Thursdays, a new video will be added with additional reading resources that students can use to complete the challenge. Students will learn about engineering, aviation, solar energy, architecture, and propulsion through out this 4 week course. Students will problem solve and engineer designs using the scientific method. Students will persevere to fix or improve their designs. Students will use resources provided by the teacher to create designs within the guidelines and rules of each challenge. Student will evaluate their design and discuss what worked well and what they would do differently next time.
MUST HAVE materials for this 4 week class include: Deck of card or 52 index cards popsicle sticks tape glue scissors 81/2 x 11" computer paper pennies (about $2 worth) marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate toothpicks OPTIONAL materials that can be used in some challenges LEGOS Straws clay/ play-dough
