In this class, we will read the story "The Three Little Pigs". We will discuss the three different houses and the materials used to make them. Then we will all use the materials we brought with us to class to make our own house. The material used is completely up to the student. Once the houses are made, we will take turns showing it to the class, and then test the structure and design by "Big, Bad Wolf" blowing on it. Houses can be 2D or 3D, but 3D houses will work best with the blowing...
Students will experiment with materials and structural designs, building creativity and problem solving skills.
Students will need to have supplies to build a simple, small house. Supply choices are completely up to the students, but here are some ideas: glue, clay, scissors, tape, legos, cardboard, construction paper, straws, spaghetti, popsicle sticks. Student will choose one "type" of house to build, so base your supply list off of that.
