STEM：AI 簡介 - 什麼是 AI（人工智慧）

Artificial Intelligence has exploded in 2023 into a world wide phenomena. But what really is AI? How does it really work? What are the capabilities and limitations, benefits and dangers of this new technology?  How can it be used effectively in our everyday life? Equip your student with the understanding and skills to utilize this new world effectively!

This particular class focuses on "What really IS Artificial Intelligence as compared to Real Intelligence?" 

We will be explore questions such as:

1. What is AI?
2. What can AI do?
3. What can AI NOT do?
4. Overview of the internals:
    a. Neurons
    b. Neural networks
    c. Tokenizers
    d. "Attention" mechanisms
5. How does AI "Learn"?
6. Will AI take over the world?

The class format is lecture / discussion / whiteboarding. Each student is encouraged to be as vocal and involved as they desire, to their comfort level. My style is to provide a deep understanding of very technical concepts through easy to understand language and examples. 

This One Time class is part of a set of  introduction classes into this new world of AI. Each class is independent and addresses a single aspect of AI. We will not dive deeply into the technology, but rather focus on uses and avoiding pitfalls. For a deep hands on experience, follow this with the series on understanding AI.  These classes are independent and can be taken in any order. They are appropriate for beginners with no prior coding or technology knowledge.
