I will be teaching how to achieve natural floral colors with watercolor paints, how to use various (soft) brushes and many techniques that will be useful in future watercolor classes. Students will get a start on their floral painting which will be 12" x 12" or smaller. They may finish it in class or they may want to take their time and finish it on their own. Either way they will know the techniques to use. Student can ask questions, show their progress and watch my demonstrations. I will use a document camera while painting, so everything will be able to be seen clearly. Materials listed below:

Materials needed if you want to paint along: 2-3 sheets of watercolor paper: (11x15 is best), a watercolor set (I will be using a Prang oval 8 set), a pair of scissors, pencil, a variety of soft round pointed brushes, water container, paper towels. • Paint: If you have a tube watercolor set, be sure to also have a white plastic plate to use as a palette, or whatever you want to use, as long as it's white.

1.)
• I teach art students (pre covid) in my home art studio. Now I teach via zoom or facebook Live.
My classes are for everyone. I teach children from 5 on up, Home schoolers, Public school kids, adults of all abilities, special needs adults (The Arc of Buffalo County)
• I could offer art history, painting, drawing.......
• I would also be able to offer lyric writing classes for music.
• I have developed a class for tying music and art together. This may also be a possibility on Outschool.

• I have a BA of arts in K-12 Education (University of Nebraska, Kearney) and a MA in Counseling and Psychology (Northern Arizona University)
• I have 30 + years experience teaching in public schools, private settings, workshops, Community College, Arts for Senior Citizens and special needs adults.
• I was the Executive Director of our local Arts Council for 4 years until I decided to focus on my own art and music
• My husband and I have released 2 music albums and the third will be out Summer 2021
• We won 1st place in an international song writing contest 2020 (The Shockitanos)

My philosophy of teaching focuses on inclusion, kindness and becoming a well-rounded person.
I believe everyone has the ability to grow and improve themselves when given experiences that are encouraging, safe and led with experienced and confident teachers.
In my teaching I use terms/vocabulary, history references and love to show examples so my students get the big picture and see how what they are learning about relates to their own life.
It’s been my life goal to share what I know and become a lifelong learner myself.
4.) I love gardening, cooking, animals, arts, crafts, jewelry design, music and interior design. I play musical instruments by ear, perform with my husband Mike in our duo The Shockitanos, create homemade plant-based home and health products and love meeting new people.
