Welcome to my dynamic Creative Writing Series, where young writers aged 10-15 embark on a thrilling journey across multiple genres! From spine-tingling scares to heart-pounding adventures, enchanting fantasies to captivating romances, perplexing mysteries to gritty realism, each class offers a unique exploration into the diverse realms of storytelling. I have led many successful writing classes in my career and in this class students will delve into the fundamentals of creative writing, mastering correct grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation while honing their skills in writing compelling narratives. Through engaging lessons and interactive exercises, participants will learn the art of developing vivid characters and immersive settings, essential ingredients for creating unforgettable stories. But that's not all - our focus extends beyond mere technical proficiency. Each class is dedicated to weaving an exciting plot that hooks readers from the first line and keeps them eagerly turning pages until the very end. Whether it's sending shivers down their spines, igniting their sense of adventure, sparking romance, unraveling mysteries, or reflecting the complexities of real life, students will discover the power of storytelling to entertain and captivate. Get ready to embark on a thrilling writing adventure unlike any other! Scary Story In this fast-paced class, we'll begin by delving deep into the heart of any spooky tale: the setting. From eerie abandoned mansions to fog-shrouded forests and haunted graveyards, we'll explore how to create the perfect atmosphere to send shivers down your readers' spines. Next, we'll breathe life into our stories by building characters that leap off the page. Whether it's a brave protagonist facing their darkest fears or a sinister villain lurking in the shadows, we'll learn how to craft characters that will keep your readers on the edge of their seats. And finally, we'll use our imaginations as we craft the spine-chilling plot that will keep readers up late into the night. This class is all about diving headfirst into the world of scary storytelling, so come prepared with your most bone-chilling ideas and plenty of writing materials. The class time breakdown will be as follows: (all of the following will be done with my guidance and idea help) 5 minutes - introductions 5 minutes - create the students story setting 5 minutes - build their characters 10 minutes - plot outline (using the plot mountain method) 25 minutes - write - focusing on beginning, middle and end 10 minutes - edit and share *these times are flexible **it is possible this class could run over on time slightly
