In this class, we will continue to learn vocabulary words, simple sentences, and conversational skills. We will constantly use the term and conversational skills learned in unit one. We will also begin to learn verb usage and conjugation. In unit 2 we will learn about Spanish culture including foods, dress, and celebrations. This class has a relaxed setting. The learning goal is to have the learner leave with a basic knowledge and speaking ability to carry on a conversation in Spanish. The learner should know how to ask questions and answer them. The learner will know the basic usage of verbs and be able to form simple sentences in the Spanish language.
I have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years. I have taught adults up to age 90 and children as young as 5. I have also taught our local police officers the basics of the Spanish language. I have taught from textbooks, videos, and popular language software. I will be teaching this class from a PowerPoint video. I am no longer fluent in the language and therefore only teach vocabulary, simple sentences, and basic conversational skills.
