In the lesson, we will learn about the piñata tradition in Mexico, we will learn where it comes from, the meaning of the piñata and different piñata types and fillings. We will listen to the traditional piñata song, learn the piñata basic vocabulary, the colours in Spanish and basic greetings. The class structure: Welcome Introduction Basic greetings in Spanish Class rules and expectations What do we know about piñatas? What is our experience of them? I want to hear what the children are thinking. How will the class be thought? I will introduce the topic using a slide show and videos. I love to hear what the children are thinking and will encourage lots of interaction and participation in a very relaxed, creative and friendly atmosphere. Input on vocabulary; Slides Repetition / pronunciation Vocabulary fun activity Final activity: The children will work on piñata worksheets so that at the end of the lesson they have their very own picture dictionary! Also, they will have the opportunity to design their own piñata and share it with the group. Given the children a good change to use the vocabulary they have learnt. Recap Checking around the room Goodbye My teaching style: Relaxed, creative and friendly atmosphere. Making the lesson relevant to the children. Learning in context so the learning is fun and is internalized in a natural way. Teaching Spanish through culture, art, music and games. I try to make every lesson a fun and memorable experience to get the children inspired. Beginners and early intermediates welcome.
