課堂經歷
Students will recite the alphabet and practice pronunciation. They will also use the alphabet to spell certain words, including their names (if the spellings are based on the Latin/Roman system of letters). Students will be introduced to Spanish numbers by first learning to count to 10 and then gradually progressing to 30. Interaction and use of the numbers will be in the form of asking and giving information on mock phone numbers and addresses as well as answering simple mathematical equations. The class time will be equally shared to cover the two learning targets (Spanish Alphabet and Number to 30). The weekly session will outlined as follows: Week 1: Day 1: Repeat/Recite the Alphabet, learn the Alphabet song, spell short words; Repeat/Recite numbers 0-10, read mock phone numbers and addresses. Week 1: Day 2: Review the Alphabet and song, spell short words, spell students’ names; Review numbers 0-10, introduce numbers 11-20, do simple math equations, answer questions such as, “How many are in a dozen?” Week 2: Day 1: Review the Alphabet, concentrate on vowels, recite consonant / vowel syllables, read short words; review numbers 0-20, introduce numbers 21-30, do simple math, answer targeted questions Week 2: Day 2: Review learning targets from the previous weeks, name assessment, vocabulary-reading assessment, numbers recitation, math assessment

Students will learn the pronunciation and use of the Spanish alphabet, including vowels, syllables, and special sounds. Students will also learn how to count to 30 in Spanish and to use these numbers in social situations.

I have been teaching for 29 years and tutoring in various subjects for many of those years, including in-person private teaching and tutoring as well as online domestic and international teaching and mentoring. I have served in private, charter, and public schools in the traditional classroom. For most of my career, I have taught levels 1 and 2 of Spanish. Teaching Spanish and learning other languages is my passion, and I look forward to sharing that passion with you.
I am a native English speaker and consider myself an English grammar guru. If you have English classes with me, get ready for attention to detail while getting it right with speaking, reading, and writing.

I strongly believe in the philosophy of mastery teaching and learning. Simply put, mastery means that I have conveyed the learning target in such a way that the learner is able to replicate my knowledge.
