Please note that we do occasionally use breakout rooms. If this is not something you are comfortable with, please let me know. There is no one "right" way to deal with an autistic sibling since every situation is unique. But there are similar things that we all share: feeling like our sibling gets most of your parents' attention and time, needing to be careful of what you say and do, and wishing your sibling wasn't aggressive are just a few. This will be a conversational support group style...
Our family is in this situation. I am a mother of a 22 year old son with autism. I have 5 other children, ages 26, 24, 17, 14 and 11. It has been very difficult on our family. I also have a doctorate degree studying children with depression, anxiety and behavior disorders. This is not a therapy session, but a support/social group.
