自閉症青少年社交團體 - 女孩團體

This class is designed for autistic students by me, an autistic teacher, along with feedback from other autistics. I was undiagnosed until age 21 but I always knew I was different and didn't know why. Once I found out I was autistic, it was life-changing for me because I was able to understand not only why I was different but also that I wasn't broken and that were others like me. Being able to reach out to the autistic community has been an amazing resource for me and many other autistics and I want to make that available to my students. 

Students will participate in conversations with their peers. I will encourage them to talk about their special interests and get to know one another. I will also provide games for the students to play together and help guide their conversation when needed. Because this class is student-led it is not possible to give a weekly outline. However, the class will follow the following pattern.

- Greetings and introductions if there are any new students
- Everyone will have a chance to share what they have been up to
- Discussion and games
- Everyone will get to share any upcoming plans they have before we go


This is a great way for students to make friends and build social skills. Students with all levels of verbal ability are welcome but students who do not have a way to communicate over video chat will likely not get much from the group.  If you have any concerns please contact me and I will try my best to make sure your learner can participate with whatever form of communication they use.
