What's going on in soccer? Join me and other students as we examine the top stories in the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A, and MLS. We will read and discuss top soccer news; such as, all of Chelsea's moves, Erling Haaland to Manchester City, the swirling rumors, and all the other latest transactions that are taking place in soccer. The team will have a student-led discussion about the biggest storylines of certain soccer news. I will conduct the class and ensure that...
- Social Skills: Students will be able to meet other students with a passion for soccer! In doing so, they will learn and practice conversational skills. - Comprehension and Analysis: Students will be presented with different angles of soccer and be able to express their analysis of the team. - Critical Thinking: Students will respond to comprehension questions relevant to soccer.
I have played, coached, and now analyzed sports for the past 20 years. As a coach I was able to coach every position and team at the High School Varsity level. I also had extensive practice with breaking down team and opponent scouting film. This led to my current position where I work for a football analytics company where I analyze and input data of different soccer teams, and football teams in the NFL and NCAA.
All soccer news covered will be appropriate and safe. We will only analyze and discuss the different transactions taking place around soccer; such as: acquisitions, retirements, and trades.
