We will be making three different projects throughout this course. Students will need:

-Coloring of choice (This is NOT necessary, but is based on preference. For the final class, students have the option of adding color or leaving the soap clear and adding objects such as flower petals, beads, etc.)

*We will discuss these materials during the first class session and I will answer any related questions during this time! You can also post on the main classroom page with any questions related to the course or materials for clarification.

We will only be physically making melt and pour soap as well as two other projects involving pre-made soap (hand soap and castile soap) due to the potential hazard of using lye. If your child wishes to experiment with the other methods of soap making discussed in this course (hot or cold process), please be aware that this will require parental help, supervision, and proper safety precautions and equipment, as lye is extremely dangerous. Additionally, during the final session, when we make our melt and pour soap, a parent may want to be available to cut the melt-and-pour base and help with heating/melting.
