Reading fluency and comprehension can be such hard skills to improve upon. It takes time, practice, and the right books! In this small group class, the learners and I will pick books that are fascinating and level-appropriate to read and discuss together. We will take turns reading out loud to work on our fluency and our ability to sound natural and conversational while reading. We will also stop at times to discuss what we are reading and build our comprehension skills. This will be a fun class to build our reading skills. *Books will be chosen by the learners during class and only be read during class! * **This is NOT to teach reading or phonics. This is just to build fluency and comprehension. Learners must be able to read before coming to this class.**

All books will be learner chosen and approved by the teacher. Parents are welcome to sit near their learner if the learner has phobias or fears not disclosed to the teacher.

Hello! My name is Teacher Kim. I am born and raised in the southern United States. I have been a teacher for over 15 years and worked with children and adults of all ages both in public school, private school, and private tutoring as well! I absolutely love teaching!
In my classroom, we will focus on building our reading comprehension skills, higher order thinking skills, and have some fun while learning grammar. We will do this through reading, discussion, games, and so much more!
I have a dual bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and my master's degree in middle school education (teaching and learning). I have also received my TESOL and TEFL for working with children and adults learning English. I just really love learning and teaching!
I believe that learning should be fun and engaging. It is not about being serious all the time. There should be fun, games, and brain breaks to encourage our minds to fully grow and develop. I love to help students think outside the box and engage their brains in thinking of things in different ways.
I have been married to my husband for over 13 years and I am the mother of 2 beautiful children and homeschool them as well. We have a sweet guinea pig for our pet who we absolutely adore. In my spare time, I love reading, playing games, spending time with my children, and just relaxing when possible.
