Slime has taken over the tween world, and you can find about 600 different recipes online, but the question is always "Will this recipe work?" In this one-time class, your learner will be able to make (almost) fool-proof slime, with safe and budget-friendly supplies. They will also be able to experiment with different additions to their slime to change the look, texture, and color. We will share our slimes at the end of the lesson to see how different choices can create different slimes....
I am a homeschooling mom of five kids, ranging in age from ten to nineteen. We are diving into our 6th year of homeschool and we love it. I have a passion for both education and creativity and I love combining the two whenever I can. When I'm not teaching (my kids or someone else's), I run a business based purely on creativity and art. Traveling (and 8 years of formal classes) gave me a handle on the Spanish language. I have a background in general education from 19 years of combined experience teaching in public and charter school settings, as well as tutoring one on one, ESL, and running various camps and activities. My experience ranges from childcare (infant) age all the way through high school age and includes work with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as students with mental health issues. I have a passion for, and educational background in Graphic Art/Design, however, my degrees are AA in Liberal Studies and a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. I am also TESOL certified.
-School Glue (students' choice of type ie- white, clear, glitter, glow in the dark, etc...) -Baking Soda -A Teaspoon -Disposable Bowl/Tin Pan (We will mix our slime in this. I prefer using a disposable so that I don't have to try and clean it afterward.) -Contact Lens Solution (Saline Solution) -Popsicle Sticks -Fun additions - This is where your learner can get creative. I have listed some ideas for additions but learners are welcome to experiment with things that are not on the list as well. **Addition Suggestions** -Glitter -Foil Confetti -Fimo Slices -Small Foam Balls -Small Beads -Food Coloring or Mica Powder -Small Lego Pieces -Cosmetics (lipstick, eyeshadow, etc...) -Sand -Small seashells -Air Dry Clay -Foaming Shave Cream (Gel doesn't work as well) -Hand Lotion
Please make sure that your child has space to create and play with their slime without ruining your device or furniture. Slime is lots of fun but can also be messy.
