In this fun and active class, learners will sing songs about unicorns as we explore music and singing foundations. We will practice rhythm and counting beats using the Kodaly method. Learners will move and dance like unicorns. They will also complete a craft on the third day of camp. Supplies needed include download unicorn pattern from the class page, popsicle stick, markers or colored pencils, yarn or crepe paper (a few different colors), scissors, and glue or tape. Students will learn to engage their body, breath, and voice to become confident singers. They will learn how to pat rhythms using the Kodaly method. Learners will learn unicorn songs and rhythm chants. They will make a simple unicorn craft.
A download unicorn pattern from the class page, popsicle stick, markers or colored pencils, yarn or crepe paper (a few different colors), scissors, and glue or tape. Colored construction paper can also be substituted for the yarn or crepe paper. Crepe paper will be the easiest to work with.
