In these sessions, students will be introduced to phonics through a kinaesthetic approach. Both decoding and encoding skills will be implemented in a sequencial format. Over the eight weeks, we will cover the following: • tch, dge, oo, aw, au, ew, ui, wor • sight words: which, friend, people, once, does, goes, there, many, who • homonyms • g can say /g/ or /j/ • c can say /k/ or /s/ This class is taught in a multi-sensory environment. I have been an educator for nearly 23 years. First as a preschool teacher, then a therapeutic tutor for children with learning disabilities and then as a homeschool parent and writing teacher. My extensive background in education and particularly in the language arts realm, allows me to have a unique expertise in educating children in all things reading, writing & spelling!
