In this 40 minute class students will learn about other students guinea pigs. They will work on their communication skills and listening skills as they take turns showing off their guinea pig pet. I will start by modeling a good presentation and show two of my guinea pigs. Students will then have a turn talking about their guinea pig. Each student will then have a chance to ask other participants questions about their guinea pigs. I will have example questions on the screen for those who are...
Students will learn how to take turns speaking and how to ask a pertinent question. Students will also learn how to address a group by following the example set out by the teacher.
I am a certified special education teacher and have been teaching children with special needs for 8 years. I have also taught every grade from junior kindergarten to grade 8. I love giving students the opportunity to learn life skills, like communicating effectively and listening skills.
Each student should have a guinea pig to present to other participants.
