影與骨：青少年奇幻讀書俱樂部

Come be transported into the Grisha world of Shadow and Bone! Alina Starkov grew up thinking she was just an ordinary orphan. When she discovers that she might not actually be as ordinary as she thought, she is thrown into a world full of powerful people that all seem to expect great things from her. Separated from her best friend, Mal, Alina must learn to adapt to this new environment and embrace her own power.

In this class we will read through Shadow and Bone, the first book in the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. This class is open to students who are reading the series for the first time and students who may have read the book previously, but would like to re-read it in a book club setting. 

Students will complete the reading ahead of time and then we will meet together to discuss the book. Through our class discussions we will work on:

 -comprehension skills
-analyzing the characters and their actions
-making connections
-discussing the author's purpose for including different events and characters in the book
-comparing and contrasting different characters and events

The teacher will use discussion questions to guide student conversations and discussions. Students are encouraged to jot down any questions or thoughts they have while reading to share with the class. Students will be encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings from the readings each session.

We will meet twice a week for three weeks and follow the schedule below for reading the book.

Class 1: Chapters 1-3
Class 2: Chapters 4-7
Class 3: Chapters 8-11
Class 4: Chapters 12-14
Class 5: Chapters 15-18
Class 6: Chapters 19-After

Please have the first 3 chapters read before the first class meeting.
