Students will enhance their learning from the basic functions of a sewing machine to: how to complete a sewing project. The sewing project for this course will be a bucket hat. The bucket hat is comfortable to wear and can be customized to your child's personal style! The course details are as follows: Students should know: -The important parts of the sewing machine -How to thread a needle or use the needle threader -How to wind a bobbin -How to sew with a zigzag stitch and straight stitch...
Tools: Sewing Machine machine/sewing needles spool of thread for machine scissors ruler measuring tape pins/clips to hold fabric safety pin marking tool (tailors chalk, fabric pen) Fabric: 1/2 yard of main fabric (Woven fabric) 1/2 yard of lining fabric 1/4 yard of light to medium weight interfacing
Projects involve using scissors to cut fabric and the use of sewing needles. Parental assistance may be required.
