This course is particularly well-suited for beginners, individuals with dyslexia, including neurodivergent learners, as well as readers, writers, and spellers who may have a short attention span or face challenges in their phonemic awareness learning. The structured approach of this course is designed to facilitate their success! This module promotes self-directed learning, allowing students to build their confidence and independence through the Orton-Gillingham method, focusing on phonemic awareness of the alphabet. The main objective is to familiarize learners with each letter's name, provide a visual representation that illustrates the initial or final sound of the letter, and encourage them to audibly replicate that sound. Students will discover the distinction between consonants and vowels, understand their definitions, and learn how many letters comprise each category, including the short vowel sounds. Each lesson is designed to be completed within 10 to 20 minutes, enhancing letter recognition and sound fluency for accurate and effortless reading. This encompasses an expansion of game elements featured in each lesson, which is designed to encourage turn-taking, facilitate the development of relationships, improve memory recall, foster patience, and aid in the application of learned skills. It is essential for students to follow the *I do, you do* strategy presented in the detailed instructions of each lesson. Focusing on each letter in isolation, as demonstrated, is highly recommended. By concentrating on one lesson at a time in a systematic order, students can effectively master all letter sounds within a five-week timeframe. I invite parents and students to share their work and or feedback :)
