In this one time class, the kids will be introduced to physics by making and testing catapults. They will learn about elastic potential energy, kinetic energy, and projectiles. During our class discussion, I will use visual graphics such as photos, slideshows, and video clips to illustrate the physics concepts we are discussing. I encourage the kids to ask questions because that's how we learn The kids will follow my step by step instructions so that we can build our catapults together. ...

Any color is fine too. Four or five sturdy rubber bands ( a bag with assorted sizes will be fine) have extras in case one or more break plastic spoons ( 2-3) heavy weight; marshmallows that will fit into the bowl of the spoon and cotton balls
The kids will be launching marshmallows with their catapults.
