In this one-time class, learners will join Teacher Jolene for a read-aloud of Bald Eagles by Trace Taylor. Teacher Jolene will help lead through this non-fiction book about bald eagles with discussion, a circle (schema) and tree map (can; have; are), a direct draw, and simple writing. Learners will be asked to share their direct drawing and writing with Teacher Jolene. Class will conclude by singing a bald eagle song and/or chant and enjoying a favorite snack (provided by learner’s family).
Learners will help create a circle and tree map about bald eagles; construct a direct draw of a bald eagle; complete a simple writing about bald eagles; participate in discussions; and enjoy a favorite snack while singing a few songs!
Teacher Jolene is a certified teacher (26 years) and currently teaches 1st and 2nd grade in Washington State’s Public Schools.
