Each class students will explore a new topic/concept from an area of science (physical science, earth sciences, or life science). Then, students will perform a hands-on experiment connected to the topic. Gravity Drop - Week of July 24 ~ Bowl of Water ~ Pillow or Something Soft of Item to Land on ~ Testing Item Ideas: *Items will be dropped Legos, Crayon, Plastic Silverware, Balloon, Wash Cloth Penny, Paperclip, Rock, Beads, Bracelet, Small Ball (ping pong, super ball, golf ball, etc.), Dice, Button, Cork, Wood, Raisin, Grape, Carrot, Cherry Tomato (Any other toys and or objects the student would like to test) Melting Matter - Week of July 31 ~ 2 Clear cups (For ice cubes and or ice cream) ~ Salt (4 Tablespoons) ~ One of theses materials: Baking Soda, Sand, Flour, Baking Powder, Dirt ~ 2 Ice Cubes or 2 Tablespoons of Ice Cream *Students can experiment with only ice cubes or ice cream.
