In this learner-directed, ongoing class, we will engage in back and forth conversations while strengthening our gameplay for our favorite online game, Roblox!

We will start the class with brief introductions, then some simple guidelines with what to expect from the class. Each learner will give their game choice and a private server will be purchased by myself and setup immediately. Time will be divided equally between each participant. Students will click the link in the Zoom chat that will take them to a private server where only enrolled students can join. 

We will practice prompting with questions, discuss subjects with interest, and implement back and forth verbal communication.  Students will also be taught how to approach an opinion that they don't agree with and how to handle that situation in the best manner.  We will talk about what makes the levels we play challenging or too easy.  Last, we will all share some tips and tricks in order to strengthen our gameplay.

My goal is to allow students to have a comfortable, social learning environment where they can practice their social skills and learn from others while talking about their favorite topic, online gaming.  This class is a no pressure class, we are here to have fun and play well with our friends while learning!

Classroom Checklist / 5 steps for success:

1. Make sure your current operating system is able to handle running Zoom without major lag. Students like to share their screens to display art, videos, edits, etc. with their friends. Gaming classes require more bandwidth to run Roblox and Zoom at the same time. Students may use two devices to avoid lag, if needed.

2. You are responsible for your devices to be up to date prior to each and every class. Please check with your manufacturer for direct instructions (major operating systems are listed below as examples).

3. Run a speed test to make sure your device can handle running  Zoom efficiently.

4. Please make sure your Roblox is updated to the newest version before each and every class. You can do so by opening the website on your computer or opening the app on your device.

5. To help your learner model successful behavior and keep safe in class, please have them view this video prior to joining Zoom. This is only required to be viewed before your first class meeting.

ONGOING CLASS AND REFUND POLICY:

This is an ongoing class and you will be billed weekly (on Sundays) for the following week's class. Outschool will bill you each week that you are enrolled in an Ongoing Class, but you can stop your subscription at any time. You will receive a full refund if you stop your subscription within 24 hours of payment, including initial sign-up.

Once your first class meeting begins, you are no longer eligible for a full refund. Stopping your subscription after class begins or after the 24 hour period will stop any future charges, but will not result in a refund of your most recent payment.

Only the following situations guarantee parents a full refund, regardless of class-specific refund policies. Please contact us at https://outschool.com/help if you need additional help with a refund for any of these reasons:

* Parents receive a full refund if they withdraw from a class of any type within 24 hours of purchase. Note that the 24-hour refund window only applies until the class’s start time, at which point the class-specific refund policy will apply.
* A full refund is also provided if a parent stops their ongoing class subscription within 24 hours of auto-renewal. As above, this applies until the class’s start time, at which point the ongoing class refund policy will apply.
* Parents receive a full refund if the teacher cancels in advance of the class’s first meeting time.
* In the event that a teacher changes the date or time of a class meeting before the class’s start date, parents may request a full refund.

Please know by enrolling in this class you are agreeing to the guidelines listed in the Code of Conduct and Outschool safety policies.  If your student does not follow these rules, they may be contacted by Outschool's safety team or withdrawn from the class completely.

Students are encouraged to show up to class on time due to gameplay time limits. If you show up after class start, you might not be able to pick your game choice. Students that arrive more than 10 minutes late might be refused entry in order not to disrupt the current game/class.
