In this dynamic grammar class, your learner will embark on a journey through a wide range of fundamental language concepts, including nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, conjunctions, punctuation, sentences, and much more. Here's what you can expect:

Interactive Learning:
In this class, your child will actively participate in activities such as matching, drawing, dissecting, and writing to grasp each grammar concept thoroughly.

Comprehensive Topics: We delve into various essential aspects of grammar, including:

Nouns
Pronouns
Verbs
Adverbs
Adjectives
Conjunctions
Punctuation
Sentence Structure
And much more!

Teaching Approach: Each session features engaging Google Slides or Nearpod presentations, making learning fun and interactive. My teaching approach emphasizes demonstration, prompts, and individual practice to ensure long-lasting comprehension and engagement.

Additional Resources: I occasionally provide supplementary materials like helpful posters and activity sheets, both before and after each class. These resources offer extra practice opportunities and reinforce the material covered during our sessions.

Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy aligns with Benjamin Franklin's wisdom: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." I firmly believe that active participation and hands-on learning are the keys to mastering grammar concepts.

Instructor's Experience: With a decade of experience as a 5th-grade teacher, you can trust that your child is in capable hands. I understand the value of personalized learning and can adapt quickly to accommodate the diverse needs of my students while maintaining a pace that suits the classroom's requirements.

A few important things to note:
*Please ensure that your learner has a grammar notebook and a pencil for each class.
*This is a beginner level grammar class and covers content often found in grades 2-4
**I also offer a similar grammar class at a 4th-6th grade level
**I also offer a similar grammar class at a middle school level
*Occasionally, an activity sheet may need to be printed for the class. If this is the case, I will provide at least 24 hours' notice.
*Please be aware that I am constantly brainstorming new ideas and concepts to benefit your learner, so additional grammar topics and class dates may be added in the future.
*This is an ongoing class, meaning learners can join at any point as content doesn't build off of each other.

Week of October 23rd: Collective Nouns
In the lesson, learners will dive into the world of collective nouns, discovering how we name groups of things in a fun and interactive way.

Week of October 30th:
No class this week

Week of November 6th: Regular Plural Nouns
In this lesson, learners will explore the concept of plural nouns, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how to form and use them effectively in English language communication.

Week of November 13th: Singular and Plural Nouns
In this lesson, learners will discover the unique grammatical feature of words like "furniture," which do not change form when used in singular or plural contexts. By the end, they will be proficient in correctly using such nouns in everyday communication.

Week of November 20th: No Class

Week of November 27th: Irregular Nouns
In this lesson, learners will master the intricacies of irregular and plural nouns, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the unique forms these words take in both singular and plural contexts.

Week of December 4th: Irregular Nouns in a Sentence
In this lesson, learners will explore irregular nouns, which deviate from standard pluralization rules. They will understand how irregular nouns can alter their form in a sentence by filling in the blank and creating their own examples.

Week of December 11th: Concrete and Abstract Nouns
In this lesson, learners will enhance their understanding of nouns by engaging in worksheets that focus on distinguishing between concrete and abstract nouns. By classifying a word list, students will develop the ability to recognize and differentiate tangible entities from abstract concepts in language.

*More dates to be added

Join my class on this exciting grammar adventure, where your child will not only learn about language but actively engage with it!
