Lessons will use walkthrough videos that students may watch through as needed, as well as writing examples. In walkthrough videos I will walkthrough the steps and parts of the lesson. Each lesson will start with and overview of the prior lesson and an introduction of the current lesson. At the end of each lesson learners will be given the option to submit the lesson task for feedback. Lesson 1 focuses on understanding what a writing prompt is asking the writer to focus on. There will be examples of different writing prompts that the learner will get to choose from. The goal of this lesson if for the learner to understand the different writing approaches needed based of the wording of the writing prompt. Lesson 2 will focus researching the chosen topic and planning based on the research found. The first part of the lesson will focus on credible research practices. The second part of the lesson will focus on choosing which research is needed and planning where it would best support the learners essay. Lesson 3 will focus on the key components of a strong introduction paragraph. This will include a hook sentence, connecting sentences, and a three pronged thesis statements. This lesson will also emphasize the connection between the thesis statement and body paragraphs. Lesson 4 will focus on the three body paragraphs. Each body paragraph will follow a similar structure. Body paragraphs will include a topic sentence, two supporting details from research, and a transition sentence connecting it to the next paragraph. The lesson will focus on restating parts of the thesis t create a topic sentence, writing two sentence supporting details (one sentence introduces the research information, one sentence explains the information), and writing a fluid transition s Lesson 5 will focus on writing the conclusion paragraph. The conclusion paragraph is essentially a summary of what has already been written. It is comprised of a restated thesis statement, four sentences summarizing the body paragraphs, and ends will a call to action. This lesson will focus on rewording and restating important details, as well as encouraging the reader. Lesson 6 will focus reviewing the essay and making any changes needed. Learners will use a review checklist to ensure they have all requirements, they may also use a peer review checklist with a friend or family member. Once the review checklist is completed students will edit as needed and ensure the essay is written in proper format before submitting it.

Hi I am Ms. Amii. I'm going to into my fourth year as a educator. I currently work with elevate K12 working as a math teacher for grades 1 through 8. My approach to teaching is to apply the material to real-world situations so that students feel that the information is truly important to know. I believe in this approach because if students think that the material they are learning will help them later in life they are more likely to remember it. I plan on teaching math classes, high school prepared classes, as well as a series of classes focused on preparing for financial aid for college while in middle grades. While I plan to teach mainly academic focus classes I do plan to teach some classes that lean towards my own personal interests. I plan to do a summer NaNoWriMo fanfiction event, I love to write fanfiction and Harry Potter is one of my main topics. Now while Harry Potter is my favorite we will also be focusing on multiple other fanfictions that we would like to write stories about most likely putting it to a vote to the students for each fan fiction topic.
