In this 6-week class students will continue to learn the basics of playing music and an instrument. During this fun course students will become recorder ninjas and earn the green, purple, and blue belts using the “Recorder Karate” method book written by Barb Philipak © 2002 Plank Road Publishing, Inc. • All Rights Reserved • Used by permission. This course is designed to be paced in a way that allows students to master the concepts presented in this next level recorder course, setting them up for future success at recorder and music. We will learn new concepts each class as well as review and check for understanding of previous classes. Information will be presented through teacher lead instruction, video, games, and student discussion and playing. In this course we will earn the green, purple, and blue belts. We will work on four new notes and learn three songs. Recorder is a wonderful instrument learn music skills. It is a instrument that is accessible for students in second to fourth grade but can also be played at a professional level of artistry. Skills learned on the recorder can also transfer to other instruments setting students up for future success in music.
