每週 1 小時. Families will receive a PDF containing a set of letter flashcards, which correspond to the letter images used in class. Students are encouraged (but not required) to review the letters from class as the course progresses. These flashcards will also help parents understand how well their child is retaining the course material.完成證書

Students will review all 26 letter names and sounds through actions, songs and games. The class is highly interactive, and learners will be encouraged to participate as much as they are comfortable. This class takes advantage of "visual mnemonics," which are powerful learning tools that pair letters with images that hint at their sounds, making it easier for children to remember and recognize them. Students will learn to blend sounds together, beginning with 2-sound "alien words." These are always a hit with young readers! As students progress in confidence (and solidify more letters) they will begin to read real 3-sound words. Expect a positive, active, and fun atmosphere in this class! Students will finish the course with increased confidence and excitement for reading.

Hello! I've always loved teaching and learning... there's nothing more exciting to me! I enjoy teaching all subjects but early literacy has an extra special place in my heart. I always strive to create positive and joyful learning environments. It's so important to me that a child feels confident and capable as they grow!
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, as well as an English as a Second Language Endorsement. I taught in the public schools for 8 years, in both first and second grades! A professional learning highlight for me was completing the 2-year LETRS course, which gave me lots of great insights and skills for teaching reading and spelling, based on the latest research and best practices.
When I'm not teaching, I love reading, learning random things (thanks, YouTube!), going on walks, and planning fun trips!評論
