課堂經歷
This class is meant for students who already possess good comprehension and conversation skills in German. Emphasis will be laid on enhancing the students skills and confident in reading and writing German texts and short stories. Each class will be tailored slightly to the skill level and interest of the students. We will read famous German texts, silly animal stories as well as analyze and write German poetry and song. Students will improve their understanding of German grammar, reading and writing. Since the class is an immersion class, naturally students will also improve their conversation skills and broaden their German vocabulary. I am using learning materials that we utilize in German schools to ensure students are in line with current school standards. Homework is give after each class and posted in the classroom link. Before, during and after class, I am always available to answer questions on projects or assist throughout the week. Week 1: Reading skills and geography of Germany Week 2: Writing skills Week 3: Forms Poetry in Germany Week 4: Forms of Poetry in Germany Week 5: Final Projects

About me:
I love teaching, especially my mother language because I believe it is such a wonderful language. Generally, it is simply fun to explore new cultures and extend your horizon!
In college I majored in Linguistics, Political Science and Journalism. Combined both in Gymnasium (high school) and college I studied a wide array of interesting languages including Latin, Greek, Swahili, Hebrew, Hausa and Twi. I was also part of various language research groups at European universities. Needless to say I love anything language related!
More than anything I love to spark a love for learning and ignite an interest in visiting German speaking countries one day.
I believe, especially for younger students, learning a language at home is the perfect environment to relax and feel at ease.
I am currently hybrid homeschooling my own children and love the freedom it allows them to develop and pursue their interests and skills to the maximum. Since my children and I are 'language nerds' they studied Spanish, Mandarin, Norwegian and French in addition to speaking German and love it (:
In my free time I love to study, listen to and make music. I also teach piano and music theory.
